Betcoin Poker Review

Betcoin Poker is apart of the Betcoin.ag brand. It’s one of the few bitcoin operators that offer an ‘all in one’ solution. All in one meaning you can play poker, casino games and bet on sports. This review will focus on their poker section, and how it compares to Seals With Clubs, their nearest competitor.

Betcoin Poker Software & Games

Have you played poker at BlackChip Poker, 5Dimes or Americas Cardroom? If you have then you will recognize Betcoin Poker’s software. They offer a download for Windows. And just recently (within the last 2-4 weeks) they added a Flash option. So now Mac and Linux players can sign up without needing an emulator. That’s what I used to review their games.

Like most poker sites you can choose from cash games, SNGs and tournaments. However, unlike most poker sites there wasn’t anyone in the cash game section. It was literally a ghost town, except for the play money games. I found some action there. Assuming you could find action; stakes vary from .02/.04 to 100/200. Variations include short stacks, caps, 2-9 players and jackpot tables. In the evening times they do seem to have a bit of cash game traffic, but games are not available 24/7.

So… not so great.

On the bright side I found a lot more action in the tournament section. I would attribute this to Betcoin’s deal with the Winning Poker Network. Their tournaments and player pool is linked together. When I last checked their traffic levels, it was hovering around 300 players. There were a dozen or so games running, too.

As for variations you can choose from turbo, knockouts, freerolls and satellites. Pretty standard stuff for a tournament section.

One thing that did stand out to me is their freerolls. When I reviewed them they had small fields, like less than 25 players. This ends up being more like a SNG than a large multi-table tournament. Having previous SNG experience myself, trust me when I tell you that a halfway decent player could clean up here.

What Else Can You Do At Betcoin.ag?

You have two (other) options – a sportsbook and casino.

I won’t dive too deep into their sportsbook since we’ve already written a review. But some highlights for me include live betting and different bet formats including American, Decimal, Fractional, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesian.

The software company, BetSoft, powers their casino. This should excite you because that means 3D games, entertaining slot themes (with fun bonus rounds and cut scenes) and a unique poker game that pits you against an AI. They also have a live dealer section – choose from live Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat.
